Ways You Can Get Involved
Church Youth Groups – Help facilitate youth groups, Bible studies, socials or discipleship programmes.
Local Secondary Schools – lunchtime/after school clubs, mentoring alongside our CYFC staff.

Church Youth Volunteer
The purpose of a Church Youth Volunteer is to walk alongside young people as they discover who they are, who God is, and what it means to follow Jesus in their everyday lives. This role isn’t about being an expert — it’s about being present. It’s about showing up with a heart that cares, listening well, and creating safe, welcoming spaces where young people can explore faith, ask questions, and feel known.
Whether you’re brand new to youth work or have years of experience, you’re welcome. We value enthusiasm over expertise, availability over ability, and a willingness to grow over having everything figured out. We provide all the training, support and encouragement you need — whether this is your very first time volunteering with young people or you’re simply looking for a helpful refresher.
As a Volunteer Youth Leader, you become part of the wider CYFC family: a movement of volunteers who believe in the next generation and want to see them thrive. Your time, your presence and your prayers help create opportunities for young people to encounter Jesus, build friendships, and develop a resilient faith that lasts.
This role allows you to use your gifts — whatever they are — to make a real and lasting difference. You’ll be joining a team that cheers you on, supports you practically and celebrates every small step of faith you help young people take. You’ll gain confidence, new skills, and the joy of seeing God at work in your life and in the lives of teenagers in your own church family.

Secondary School Volunteer
As a Secondary School Volunteer with Camberley Youth for Christ you’ll step beyond the walls of the church and meet young people right where they are in the heart of their everyday world.
CYFC partners with five secondary schools: Tomlinscote, Kings International, Collingwood College, Charters and Gordon’s School
It gives our partner churches an opportunity to build genuine relationships with young people and be a positive, hope-filled presence in their lives.
You don’t need to be young, trendy or up with the latest trends (believe me when I say I’m not) It’s about being present and willing to listen. Young people aren’t looking for another best friend, they’re looking for guidance, encouragement and consistent adults who believe in them.
By volunteering in schools, you become someone who brings the light and the love of Jesus into a place where many young people may never encounter it otherwise.
You’ll have opportunities to support lunchtime or after-school Christian Union, and gently share the gospel as trust grows. When a young person wants to explore faith further, you’ll be part of signposting them to a local church where they can find further community and discipleship.
The commitment is simple and manageable: once a week during term time, either at lunch or after school, depending on the location. In some schools, your whole session may be as little as 30minutes — but those minutes can have a powerful impact.
Whether you’re seasoned in youth work or taking your very first step, this role is open to people of all ages and church backgrounds. We provide full training, support and guidance, so you’ll never feel unprepared or alone.

Camberley Youth for Christ — Ambassador Role Purpose
The purpose of the CYFC Ambassador is simple yet incredibly significant: to help bridge the gap between our mission and your church community. As an Ambassador, you’ll receive short messages, videos or updates from us and pass them on to whoever coordinates your church notices — whether that’s during Sunday services, small-group communications, or the weekly newsletter.
By sharing these messages, you play a vital part in helping young people across Surrey Heath encounter the hope of the gospel. Your involvement enables more people to hear about the work of Camberley Youth for Christ, which in turn helps us connect with new volunteers, supporters, and prayer partners. Every message you pass on has the potential to mobilise someone’s heart toward making a difference.
This role is perfect for someone who deeply cares about young people coming to faith but may not feel called or able to serve in face-to-face youth work. As an Ambassador, you’ll still have a meaningful, frontline impact — using your presence in your church community to champion young people and highlight the importance of reaching the next generation.
Being part of this role means knowing that you are actively contributing to a bigger picture. You help create opportunities for young people to be mentored, encouraged, and introduced to Jesus. You help your church stay connected to what God is doing in local schools and youth spaces. And you become a valued link in the chain of people working together to transform young lives.

Prayer Team Leader
We believe that prayer is powerful! Therefore, we want to wrap our organisation in prayer and we would love for people to pray with us
We organise monthly prayer meetings where we pray for our work, young people and the community.
Please join us in prayer.
We normally meet on a Thursday morning and the location changes between local Churches.

Training Facilitator
Our Training Facilitator works alongside the CYFC team to help deliver existing training materials to youth workers and volunteers. This role is ideal for someone who doesn’t feel they can work directly with young people, but enjoys facilitating learning, and encouraging others. By helping equip our youth volunteers with practical skills and confidence, the Training Facilitator plays a key part in enabling churches to run fun, engaging, and meaningful sessions for young people.
In helping deliver youth ministry training, you’re ensuring volunteers feel confident, equipped, and supported as they engage young people across Surrey Heath.
No previous youth work experience necessary. No planning required just do the bit you love – help to inspire learning!
School Guest Host
Support Camberley Youth for Christ by hosting and caring for guest speakers as they spend time in local schools, helping them feel welcomed, and ready to engage confidently with students.
The School Guest Host acts as a chaperone for visiting speakers during their day with CYFC in schools. This role focuses on hospitality and relationship-building — ensuring speakers feel comfortable, their needs are met, and communication with school staff runs smoothly. The host will also help express CYFC’s gratitude by taking speakers out for a meal at the end of the day. This is a great role for someone who enjoys conversation, creating a welcoming environment, and supporting the Camberley Youth For Christ ministry behind the scenes.
