Communications/Administrator

Hours: 15 hours per week, term time only (40 weeks) (May include some evenings and occasional weekends)      Incredibly flexible hours across the week – Perfect for family life

Salary: £7,626 per annum
Location: Combination of Office Location in Camberley, Surrey and work from home. Flexible hours available.
Reports to: Head of Youth Ministry

Camberley Youth for Christ is part of the national Youth for Christ movement. Our mission is working alongside churches and schools to cultivate resilient youth ministries and nurture young people in their faith. 

Job Purpose:

To support the work of the Head of Youth Ministry (HoYM) through administrative and promotional communication. This includes a range of administrative, media and volunteer management responsibilities. 

Key Responsibilities:

Communication with external sources: 

  • Assume editorial control to ensure the creation and publication of a termly newsletter and distribute this.
  • Maintaining the CYFC database. 
  • Communicate prayer points with our supporters, churches, partners etc. 
  • Be creative in supporting material to be used on resources, ability to use canva/IT systems.
  • Maintain and post regular blogs, flyers and notices on the Camberley Youth for Christ website and social media platforms. 
  • Handle the administrative side of communication with schools.
  • Maintain regular contact with churches and their ambassadors, providing resources. 

 

Team communication:

  • To maintain a weekly meeting with the HoYM of one hour as a supervisory meeting and discussion over tasks.
  • To liaise with the HoYM as necessary outside of supervisory time. The HoYM will enable this and set time within their schedule to achieve this.
  • Support HoYM in establishing a communication strategy. 
  • To communicate with volunteers as necessary.

 

Office Administration:

  • Keep the office stocked, organised, and things appropriately stored.
  • Keep an up to date record of equipment owned by Camberley Youth for Christ.
  • Keep track of expenditure in relation to budget, liaising with HoYM. 

 

Volunteer management

  • To support organise volunteer social events, retreats, etc. at The HoYM’s behest.
  • To create rotas as necessary, and organise volunteers to fulfill the requirements of the charity.
  • Follow safer recruitment procedures for DBS checking volunteers and team members.

 

Events

  • To manage the administrative tasks that come under the remit of events put on for young people.

 

Person Specification:

  • A committed Christian, passionate about sharing the Good News with young people.
  • Proficiency with IT systems and ability to use creatively: Canva/ social media/ Churchsuite/ Mailchimp etc. 
  • Confident communicator with good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Organisational skills with good coordination.
  • Flexible, reliable, and willing to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Willing to undergo appropriate safeguarding checks and training.
  • Good communication skills
