“Bullying is repeated aggressive behaviour by a person or a group that is directed at another person or group, and is intended to cause harm, distress or fear.” – BullyingUk.
Life can feel difficult, pointless and painful in the midst of bullying. It can knock your self-esteem and affect your mental health. You may ask the the question “why is this happening to me?!”. The truth is, bullying can happen to anyone at any time. It isn’t something that happens to a certain type of person. We are against bullying and believe it’s serious.
And you are not alone.
According to a recent report in 2019, a fifth of young people in the UK have been bullied in the past 12 months (BBC article).
Three out of four people who were bullied said it affected their mental health and nearly half became depressed as a result, according to the study by charity Ditch the Label.
We have the tools you need to help you overcome your bullying and help you thrive. As professional youth workers, our team have devised a 6 week programme with strategies and tools to help young people deal with their bullying in a holistic approach and help them thrive and not just survive.
Please do contact Oli Deeks if you’d like to know more.
The course is aimed at Secondary School young people.
There are 6 sessions which last a school lesson (approx. 1 hour) and sessions will take place weekly.
For now, we are taking referrals through Schools
The course is FREE, but donations are welcome. You can donate here.
The course will run in small group sizes (3 – 8) to allow everyone the chance to participate.
The course will be mixed gender.
All our youth workers are safely recruited and have DBS checks.
